
Gaurav Mehta, Founder and Managing Partner
Gaurav is the Founder and Managing Partner of Mehshah Capital. With over 18 years of combined experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, and management consulting, Gaurav has a well-rounded perspective on every aspect of an investment, from due diligence and negotiations to operations and portfolio management.
Prior to founding Mehshah Capital, Gaurav was a Director with Pinta Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm based out of New York. Prior to joining Pinta, Gaurav spent over 10 years as a healthcare investment banker with Citi, Barclays and several other middle market focused investment banks where he executed over $10 billion in M&A volume and raised over $27 billion in debt / equity for financial sponsor and corporate clients. In addition to his career as an investment banker, Gaurav spent several years as an investor with Sverica Capital, Bridgewater Associates, and China Orient Asset Management as well as M&A roles with US Oncology and Deloitte Consulting.
Gaurav has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He previously served as Vice Chair for the Manhattan District Committee of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mohammad Abbas, Vice President
Mohammad Abbas is an investment professional with over 8 years of experience across private equity, investment banking, and corporate development. His experience includes sourcing, due diligence, executing, and managing investments across lower middle market and middle market businesses.
Prior to joining Mehshah Capital, Mohammad was an investor at Norwest, a global investment firm managing over $15 billion in assets, where he focused on consumer, professional, healthcare, and residential services investments. Prior to Norwest, he was an investor at Fiume Capital, focused on majority direct investments in lower middle market businesses. He began his career as an investment banker in the Global Energy M&A group at Citi.
Mohammad holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Sophia Chon, Summer Intern
Sophia Chon is a current junior at Brown University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics-Economics. Her experience includes quantitative analysis, market research, and collaboration with leading financial institutions through student organizations and academic initiatives.
She is actively involved in several finance and entrepreneurship organizations, including Brown Women in Business, Fintech@Brown, Scholars of Finance, and the Intercollegiate Finance Journal. Through these roles, she has conducted investment-focused research and contributed to finance education initiatives for the broader student community.
